Wednesday, February 25, 2015, a hearing was held in the Corrections Committee on House Bill 238 concerning hazardous duty for Corrections Officers.
This legislation would create a hazardous pay for CO’s of $75 per month the first year and another $75 per month the following year for a grand total of $150 per month. This would be above and beyond any other salary adjustments.
Please take the time to contact your state representatives and ask them to support HB 238.
It is with deep sorrow that The Missouri Corrections Officers Association would like announce that we lost one of our own. As COI Jarred Schumpert from SECC and his family traveled through the Dallas, Texas area they were involved in an automobile accident which caused their SUV to be engulfed in flames. COI Schumpert and his two year old son Lyndon were killed at the scene. His wife was taken to a local hospital in Dallas for her burns. Laura’s family will eventually be bringing her home to Missouri. Please take a moment of silence for this family at this time.
Arrangements are pending through Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, MO.
